Zaba builds your verified digital closet by reading fashion-retailer receipt emails from your Gmail inbox. This page describes what information we access, what we store, who we share it with, and how you can control it. The product is currently in invite-only beta; the practices below apply throughout the beta and going forward.

What we access

When you sign in with Google, Zaba requests read-only Gmail scope. We scan messages that match fashion-retailer receipt patterns — purchase confirmations, shipping notices, and return notifications. We do not read messages outside of fashion-retailer patterns and we do not modify, send, or delete any of your mail.

What we store

We extract structured fields from receipts — brand, product name, price, product URL, order date, and product imagery — and store those in your closet. We store a Gmail message ID alongside each item so we can de-duplicate across re-scans and detect returns. We do not store raw email content, message bodies, attachments, or message headers beyond the message ID.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell your data.
  • We don't share your closet with anyone unless you share it yourself.
  • We don't scan non-fashion email.
  • We don't train AI models on your inbox.

Service providers

Zaba runs on Supabase (database + auth + serverless functions), Vercel (web), and Google Cloud (Gmail API + Gemini for receipt extraction). Extraction calls send the receipt-relevant portion of a message to Gemini to parse structured fields; we do not retain the message content after extraction. We use Mixpanel for product analytics. None of these providers receive your raw Gmail content outside of the extraction step described above.

Affiliate links

When you share an item from your closet, the outbound link may be an affiliate-tracked URL routed through a network like CJ, Impact, Rakuten, Awin, Partnerize, ShareASale, or FlexOffers. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details on how those links work and how commission is paid.

Your controls

  • You can disconnect Gmail at any time via Google's account permissions page.
  • You can request deletion of your account and closet by emailing the address below.
  • Items can be hidden or removed individually from inside the app.
